Meet the Founder: Mark “Mr. Idea” Bullock
Entrepreneur, event producer, inventor, author, former firefighter and recording artist APOC, and the mind behind Main Event & Friends.
From firehouse to Podcast Center
Mark A. Bullock earned the name “Mr. Idea” the hard way: by turning one idea after another into a real business. He is an MBA qualified entrepreneur with more than 20 years of experience founding, running and growing companies in media, event production and technology.
In 2025 he founded Main Event & Friends in Woodbridge, New Jersey, a production studio with sets for podcasts, video, photo and live events. Mark sets the vision and strategy, manages the budget and partnerships, and runs 10+ social media accounts.
Alongside the studio he built GState Productions, an event production company he has run since 2002, producing events at NJPAC, the Union County Performing Arts Center, State Theatre New Jersey, the NC State Theatre, Kean University, Newark Symphony Hall and the NJ Convention & Expo Center. He is the second African American in history to produce an official Broadway play. Through DMR Engineering he leads product development for apps and technology, including the Godify streaming app and Signature Headphones, and he holds U.S. Utility Patent No. 9,770,619.
For 13 years Mark also served as a professional firefighter and EMT with the City of Linden Fire Department, earning five medical life saving awards. He serves as a professor at Princeton Night School, where he teaches business, artificial intelligence, media, promotions and marketing, with coursework in AI driven revenue strategies, social media strategy, customer relationship management (CRM) and search engine optimization (SEO). He is also the author of five books including The New Business Card Is A Podcast, and a mentor who has hired, trained and led more than 50 employees and staff.
“Every show, brand and business starts as an idea. Main Event & Friends exists to help people take theirs from zero to a thousand.”
